Casio has announced two new digital cameras, especially designed for YouTube. The Casio Exilim TX-S880 spors a 2.8 inches LCD display, supports SD and SDHC memory cards and comes in red or black colors, being priced at $299.99. The other one, Casio Exilim EX-Z77 features a smaller LCD display, of 2.6 inches and comes in four color options.

Dell Inc. is expecting personal computer shipments in Asia to increase by 20% in 2007 together with servers and notebooks. This does not include South Korea, Japan and China. BlackBerry is coming to China after years of being expected. Jim Balsillie, co-CEO of Research in Motion (RIM) announced the news in a conference call with different analysts. He said:
“We’re finalizing delivery availability in the mainland. We’re excited to move forward to deliver BlackBerry to corporate customers in key cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, where there’s strong interest in the BlackBerry solution.â€

Jon Johansen, a prolific 23 year old Norwegian hacker of consumer electronics gadgets declared on his blog that he has found a way to overcome iPhone’s restrictions in order to bypass AT&T Inc’s network to let users use the mobile phone’s Music and Internet features. He declared in a post entitled “iPhone Independence Dayâ€:

Some people think that the company is planning the release of a special iPhone light version that is to focus on music and voice communication, kind of like an iPhone Nano. According to Microsoft Corp. the advanced version of their Xbox 360 video game console called Xbox 360 Elite will be launched in Japan on October 11. This is because Xbox 360 sales in the country are far less than that of competitors Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Co. LTD’s Wii.

The twin rovers’ operations on Mars are being affected by a powerful dust storm according to mission scientists. This storm had an unexpected effect as it partially blocked the sun and Spirit and Opportunity (the two rovers) have solar panels. Sunlight is crucial for charging their batteries. It offered a music download service that offered songs at low prices when compared to similar sites and also claimed to be the second biggest seller of music downloads after iTunes. Panasonic is now the first company to introduce Blu-ray discs that can be written at 4x and have double-layer capability of 50 Gbytes. Most of the others available on the market today only have half of the capability of the new format. Panasonic, a brand name of Matsushita Electric Industrial, has plans to release a 25 Gbytes version this month and the 50 Gbytes Blu-ray disc in September. Two new GPS PDAs are going to be released by Mio, the P360 and P560. Currently, we don’t have many details on them, but we know they will feature WiFi, an embeded GPS antenna, Bluetooth 2.0, a miniUSB port, a microphone and their memory can be expanded via the SD/MMC memory card slot.
Both the P360 and P560 will sport an LCD touchscreen, that controls almost everything, the rest of the device featuring only a few buttons.

LED are becoming more and more used and so Taiwan announced than in the following three years all their traffic lights will use LED technologies. The project will cost them about $7 million and they will begin to replace the lights from 2008, changing 420,000 traffic lights.
