15 Intel Montevina CPUs to be Released in May
Intel’s upcoming Centrino platform, Montevina is coming with 15 new 45nm laptop CPUs, of which eight smaller, perfect for the small form factor devices. The 35mm squared ones are as following: Core 2 Extreme QX9300, 12MB cache, TDP of 45W, X9100, 6MB cache, TDP of 44W, 3.06Ghz, Core 2 Duo T9600, 6MB cache, TDP of 35W, 2.8Ghz, T9400, 6MB cache, TDP of 35W, 2.53Ghz, P9500, 6MB cache, TDP of 25W, 2.53Ghz, P8600, 3MB cache, TDP of 25W, 2.4Ghz and P8400, 3MB cache, TDP of 25W, 2.26Ghz. As expected, all of them will support the 1,066Mhz FSB.
The other eight processors, with the package size of 22mm squared, for the small form factors include: SP9400 ( 6MB, 25W, 2.4Ghz ), SP9300 ( 6MB, 25W, 2.26Ghz ), SL9400 (6MB, 17W, 1.86Ghz ), SL9300 ( 6MB, 17W, 1.6Ghz ), SU9400 ( 3MB, 10W, 1.4Ghz ), SU9300 ( 3MB, 10W, 1.2Ghz ), U3300 ( 3MB, 5.5W, 1.2Ghz ) and Celeron 723 ( 1MB, 10W, 1.2Ghz ). The ones with the TDP higher than 10W will support FSB of 1,066Mhz, while the other only 800Mhz.
We are expecting this processors to come in May, this year and the laptop manufacturers may start thinking of using them once with their release. Because of this, they are careful with the Santa Rosa ordering, so they prevent overstock.
